Work from Len’s studio is unique to his vision and aesthetic sensibilities. Len’s sculptures are made from wood and stone with an occasional use of metal. Most of the wood is salvage or reclaimed logs and timber, harvested by the artist or purchased from small local sawmill operations. Pieces range from 4” to 30” tall. Maple, various cedars, yew, walnut and ash are commonly used. Stone sculptures are travertine and marble although found stones can be used for bases. Len views his work as symbolic and experimental, thus the studio is considered an experimental place where it is important to try new things and push the limits of materials. Works may be subtractive, carved out of the solid, or additive, assembled from pieces that impart an architectural or structural note. You will find sculptures that are esoteric and sculptures that are just for fun. Len’s work is always beautiful, a joy to behold and to touch. All work is signed and numbered.
